Platinum Range

Our platinum hearing aids are our latest, most sophisticated, state of the art hearing solutions. A hearing aid from the Platinum range offers a wider range of hearing aid features than those in the Gold range and, generally, a higher level of automation in that the hearing aid automatically and seamless detects the sound enivornment you are in and adjusts itself accordingly. These hearing aids offer the best support in the most challenging listening environments where there are particularly high levels of background noise.

Hearing aids in this range offer a premium level of noise reduction, directional and automatic features, and feature up to 20 hearing aid channels. In this range you'll see all the most sophisticated features and including StereoZoom, ZoomControl, FlexControl and FlexVolume.

Hearing aids in this range come from manufacturers Gn ReSound and Phonak

Hearing aids in this range come with a 5 year product guarantee, free pack of batteries and case.

5 year guarantee

All hearing aids within our Platinum Range are covered by a 5 year manufacturer's guarantee as standard.

Up to 20 channels

The number of channels your hearing aid has determines how finely it can be tuned to suit your individual hearing loss. With 20 channels hearing aids from the Platinum Range allow a greater fine tuning for the most natural and effective hearing experience.

Background Noise Reduction - Premium

If you've ever been sat in a busy restuarant struggling to hear the conversation at your table because of all the noise in the background then this feature is ideal.  This feature helps you to focus on the important sounds you want to hear, like speech, whilst reducing levels of background noise, making it easier and more comfortable for you to hear in noisy environments.

Adaptive directionality - Premium

Directional microphones prioritise sounds coming from a certain direction while suppressing background noise from other directions.

A hearing aid with adaptive directionality will analyse your environment and choose where to focus the hearing aid microphones so you capture the most important sounds.

Volume Control

Volume controls allow you to select the volume of the sound through your hearing aids. Depending on the model volume is controlled by a small switch or button on the hearing aid itself or by using a remote control.

In more sophisticated models volume is controlled by the hearing aid itself  by analysing your hearing environment and adjusting the volume automatically - providing you with clear, comfortable hearing in an instant.

Selected Phonak hearing aids in the Platinum Range also have an advanced feature called FlexVolume. This offers greater control over comfort and clarity by adjusting several settings at once.

Anti Shock

You wouldn't want your hearing aid to amplify all the sounds around you; if it did sudden, jarring noises, like a door slamming or clattering dishes would be uncomfortable to hear. Antishock describes the features in hearing aids that reduces the impact of these sudden loud noises for a more comfortable hearing experience.

Feedback Eliminator - Premium

Feedback is the name given to the whistling sound that you may have heard typically with older or analogue hearing aids. The feedback suppression feature in a Platinum Range hearing aid will identify this feedback and suppress it, providing you with more comfortable hearing - without the whistling!

Telecoil

Telecoils allow certain audio sources to be directly connected to a hearing aid helping to filter out annoying background noise. They can be used with telephones, FM systems and induction loop systems. Loop systems can be found in most public buildings and use magnetic signals to transmit sounds straight to the hearing aid.

Wind Noise Reduction

Particularly useful for people who spend a lot of time outdoors, whether walking in the countryside, by the sea or playing golf; hearing aids with wind noise reduction sense wind conditions around you and supress the noise for comfort.

Data Logging

The data logging feature in your hearing aid remembers and 'logs' the way you use your hearing aids. For example the settings and programmes you use, how long you wear your hearing aid for etc. allowing your Hearing Aid Audiologist to better adjust and personalise your settings at your follow up appointments.

Echo Reduction

This hearing aid feature helps you to experience normal sound in environments that produce echo - such as large halls, rooms with hard, uncarpeted floors etc.

Self Learning

The next step on from data logging, the self learning feature allows you greater control over adjusting your hearing aid. With Self Learning your hearing aid learns and memorises your setting preferences - e.g. the amplification volume you use in different listening environments - and applies these automatically with one click.

Remote Control

Remote controls are available on a selection of hearing aids in our Platinum Range. The small hand held control allows you to alter the settings of your hearing aid, like increasing the volume or switching programmes easily and discreetly.

Automatic Programme Switching - Premium

Your hearing aid settings can be altered to best suit your environment. A particular group of settings is called a 'programme'. In more sophisticated hearing aids, like those in our Platinum range, the hearing aid can automtically switch between programmes based on your listening environment; so you get the best hearing possible without any effort.

Phonak hearing aids in the Premium Range feature 'SoundFlow' which adapts your hearing aid effectively creating a unique programme for each situation. This creates a seamless transition between different hearing situations, no matter what the environment.

Wireless Connectivity

Most hearing aids within our Platinum Range offer wireless capabilities. That means they can connect wirelessly to audio devices such as your TV, mobile phone or cordless headphones, allowing you to hear the sounds from the audio device straight through your hearing aids in clear, surround sound.

ZoomControl

The hearing aid feature that puts you in control; by giving you the ability to choose in which direction to focus your hearing. Perfect for instances where you may not be facing a speaker such as listening to a passenger in a car ZoomControl can be selected manually or with the use of a remote control. This feature is unique to Phonak hearing aids.

DuoPhone

DuoPhone makes using the telephone with your hearing aid simple and stress free. With DuoPhone, as soon as the phone is held close to the ear the signal is heard in both ears. Background noise is reduced and speech is made clearer.

QuickSync

If you wear two hearing aids, then just one touch on the programme selection button or volume control on one hearing aid results in instant identical changes in the other hearing aid -  ensuring that the volume and programme settings are always balanced, with minimal effort from you.

SoundRecover

In a lot of cases of hearing loss it's the high frequency sounds people struggle to hear; sounds like birdsong, children's voices etc. SoundRecover extends a persons range of hearing by restoring a proportion of these high-frequency sounds so that even people with moderate to severe hearing loss can hear more of what they want to.
