John Asquith is not new to wearing hearing aids; he's been
wearing them for 12 years and is now on his third pair; so he knows
when he hears something special.
"The particular thing about these new Ambra hearing aids is
that they are so sharp. I can't think of a better word. Sharp and
crisp. When you turn them on it's like going from a blur to a knife
edge."
And it's not just the sound quality that impressed him; he's
also noticed a distinct improvement in his ability to hear (and
join in) important conversations, even where there's a lot of noise
in the background.
"We recently went to a function at a local hall; there must
have been about 100 people there. We were at one end of the table
with five people each side and I could hear everything. I could
hear all the way down to the end of the table and actually have a
conversation with people two seats away..."
His wife, Carole, says his new aids have made a huge difference
as, when he couldn't hear well, he would withdraw from the
conversation:
"John used to find family gatherings difficult. Whenever we
got together everyone would be scattered around the lounge, they'd
just talk together and because he couldn't hear them John felt very
left out"
John agrees:
"The family came over at Christmas and we had the same
seating arrangement that we've had previously and this time I could
hear everybody around the table where previously I
couldn't."
John Asquith is emphatic in summing up what a difference his new
Ambra hearing aids have made to his life:
'Getting up in the morning is a revelation. It's a joy to
put them in and just get on with life.
